About Celmisia lateralis Buchanan

Celmisia lateralis Buchanan is a small, prostrate green plant that produces white flowerheads. This species of Celmisia resembles multiple other Celmisia species, and can be told apart by its viscid (clammy or sticky) leaves, which are also mostly glabrous (hairless). This species occurs only in the South Island of New Zealand. Its range extends from the mountains surrounding Nelson, south along the West Coast to the Paparoa Range. It grows in montane to subalpine habitats, on rocky ground.
