Celmisia discolor Hook.fil. is a perennial flowering plant. It has woody, stout flower stems that grow up to 35 mm (1.4 inches) long, and its flower petals are white. This species occurs in alpine to subalpine areas of the mountainous South Island, growing at elevations between approximately 1000 and 1700 meters. It is less common in drier eastern slope areas near Canterbury.
