About Catoptria mytilella Hübner
Catoptria mytilella is a species of moth in the family Crambidae, first described by Jacob Hübner in 1805. This species is distributed across much of Europe, excluding Ireland, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Fennoscandia, Denmark, the Baltic region, Ukraine, and Portugal. It is also found in Asia Minor and the northern Caucasus. Catoptria mytilella has a wingspan ranging from 17 to 25 mm. Adult moths emerge in a single generation each year, active from mid-June to late July. The larvae of this species are thought to feed on mosses.
