About Catochrysops strabo (Fabricius, 1793)

Catochrysops strabo, commonly called the forget-me-not, is a small butterfly belonging to the lycaenid (blues) family. It was first formally described by Johan Christian Fabricius in 1793. This butterfly has a wingspan of 25–30 mm. Its larvae feed on Ougeinia dalbergioides, Schleichera trijuga, and species from the Desmodium genus. Catochrysops strabo is found across Asia. Its recorded distribution includes Sri Lanka, the Maldives, India, and the area from Sikkim to Indochina. It is also present in Sundaland, Sulawesi, and the Philippines. It also occurs in Peninsular India south of the outer Himalayan ranges; Ceylon; Assam; Burma; Tenasserim; the Andaman Islands; the Nicobar Islands; and extends through the Malayan subregion down to Australia.
