About Catocala optata Godart, 1825

Catocala optata is a moth species belonging to the family Erebidae. It was first described by Jean-Baptiste Godart in 1824, and bears the scientific name Catocala optata Godart, 1825. This moth is found in south-central Europe (excluding Greece) and north-western Africa. Its wingspan measures 61–63 mm. Adult moths are active from July to September. Recorded host plants for its larvae are Salix caprea and Salix viminalis. Larvae of this species occur from June to July.
