Catocala minuta, commonly called the little underwing, is a moth species belonging to the family Erebidae. It was first formally described by William Henry Edwards in 1864. In the United States, this species can be found from New York south to Florida, west to Texas, and north to South Dakota, Indiana, and Michigan. The wingspan of adult Catocala minuta ranges from 35 to 45 mm. Depending on location, adults are active between June and August. Most populations likely produce only one generation each year. The larvae of this moth feed on Gleditsia aquatica and Gleditsia triacanthos.
