Castilleja pilosa (S.Watson) Rydb. is a perennial wildflower herb. Its stems are hairy, grow either upright or along the ground, and reach up to approximately 35 centimeters in length. This species is quite variable in overall appearance. Its inflorescence consists of layered bracts, which may be greenish, purplish, or pink, and sometimes have white edges. Pouched yellow-green flowers with protruding stigmas bloom between these bracts.
