Castilleja lacera, a species of Indian paintbrush, is commonly known as cutleaf Indian paintbrush. It is native to California and southern Oregon, and grows in grassy mountain and foothill habitats. It is an annual herb covered in glandular hairs, reaching up to around 40 centimeters in height. Its leaves are linear and lance-shaped, and can grow up to 5 centimeters long. Its inflorescence consists of hairy green bracts and bright yellow pouched flowers.
