Castilleja foliolosa Hook. & Arn. is a perennial wildflower. It reaches a maximum height of 60 centimeters, and is covered entirely in woolly white or gray branching hairs. Its leaves are linear in shape, and grow up to 5 centimeters long. Its inflorescence consists of layered bracts, with tips that range from bright orange-red to dull yellowish green. The inconspicuous nondescript flowers grow between these colorful bracts; they are greenish and pouch-shaped. The fruit it produces is a capsule that measures just over one centimeter in length.
