About Castiarina simulata (Gory & Laporte, 1838)
Castiarina simulata is a beetle species that belongs to the jewel beetle family, Buprestidae. This species occurs in Western Australia, South Australia, and Victoria. It was first formally described in 1838 by Hippolyte Louis Gory and Francis de Laporte de Castelnau, under the original name Stigmodera simulata, based on a specimen collected from the Swan River. Adult Castiarina simulata beetles are active during the day, and they feed on the flowers of plants in the Myrtaceae family. The larvae of this species are wood borers.
