Carex texensis, commonly known as the Texas sedge, is a species of flowering plant that belongs to the sedge family, Cyperaceae. This species is endemic to the eastern, central, and southern regions of the United States. Its culms grow 10 to 30 cm (3.9 to 11.8 in) tall. At the base, the culms measure 0.5 to 1 mm (1โ„64 to 3โ„64 in) wide, and toward the end they measure 0.4 to 0.5 mm (1โ„64 to 1โ„64 in) wide. The leaves of Carex texensis are green, and the widest leaf blades reach 1 to 1.7 mm (3โ„64 to 1โ„16 in) across.
