Carex tenera Dewey, commonly called quill sedge, is a species of sedge that is native to the northern United States and Canada. According to the Flora of North America, two varieties of this species are recognized: C. tenera var. tenera, and C. tenera var. echinodes, which is also classified as the separate species Carex echinodes (Fernald) P.Rothr., Reznicek & Hipp.
