About Carex siderosticta Hance

Carex siderosticta Hance is a sedge species that is native to East Asia. It is the type species of the subgenus Carex subg. Siderosticta. Among all known species in the genus Carex, it is the only one that produces "pseudo-lateral" culms. These culms look like they grow laterally, but actually originate from the apical meristem.
