Carex prasina is commonly called the drooping sedge, a common name it shares with two other species: Carex longebrachiata and Carex pendula. It is a species of flowering plant belonging to the family Cyperaceae. It is native to eastern Canada, as well as north-central and eastern regions of the United States. It typically grows in rich soils in deciduous forests, and it is most often found in wet locations including streamsides, seeps, springs, and fens.
