Carex planostachys, commonly called cedar sedge, is a species of flowering plant in the Cyperaceae family. It is native to the U.S. states of New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, the entire territory of Mexico, and Guatemala. This small species grows to a height of 15 cm (6 inches). It typically grows in duff found under "cedars", which are actually junipers.
