About Carex peregrina Link

Carex peregrina Link is a species of sedge that belongs to the family Cyperaceae. It has a highly disjunct distribution: it grows in the Azores and Madeira islands of the eastern Atlantic Ocean, and is also found over 6,000 km (3,700 mi) away in the mountains of Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania in East Africa. This species prefers to grow in montane forests, but can occasionally be found in sunny grasslands. Its growing elevation ranges from 2,300 to 3,500 m (7,500 to 11,500 ft) above sea level.
