About Carex muricata L.

Carex muricata L., commonly known as rough sedge or prickly sedge (a common name it shares with multiple other species), is a species of the genus Carex. It is native to Europe and western Asia, with its native range extending as far east as the Himalayas. It has also been introduced to regions outside its native range. This taxon has been poorly studied, and is generally treated as a species aggregate. Over the years, this species aggregate has been marked by extensive taxonomic confusion that has not yet been fully resolved.
