Carex leersii, commonly known as grassland sedge or many-leaved sedge, is a widespread flowering plant species belonging to the sedge family Cyperaceae. Its native range includes the Atlas Mountains of Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, the Altai, and the western Himalayas, and it has been introduced to New Zealand. It is part of the Carex muricata group, and grows best in sunny, relatively dry locations.
