About Carex globosa Boott

Carex globosa Boott is a species belonging to the genus Carex, also known as sedges. According to the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, Carex is one of the largest genera of flowering plants, with over 2000 species. In May 2015, the Global Carex Group proposed a broader classification of the genus Carex. This broader circumscription adds all species that were formerly classified in four other genera: Cymophyllus (1 species), Kobresia (approximately 60 species), Schoenoxiphium (approximately 15 species), and Uncinia (approximately 70 species). As of May 2024, this page lists all currently recognized species and hybrid species in the genus Carex, organized alphabetically from A through Z.
