About Carex fraseriana Ker Gawl.

Carex fraseriana Ker Gawl., commonly known as Fraser's sedge, is a perennial plant in the sedge family. Before it was re-transferred to the genus Carex, it was the only recognized species in the genus Cymophyllus. This species is native to the Great Smoky Mountains and the southern Appalachian region in the southeastern United States. It is classified as endangered in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Maryland, and Georgia.
