Carex dioica, commonly called the dioecious sedge, is a species of flowering plant in the genus Carex. This common name is also shared with another species, Carex sterilis. It is native to Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Svalbard, nearly all of Europe, western Siberia, and the Altai. It favors habitats consisting of calcareous fens.
