About Carex depauperata Curtis ex Woodw.

Carex depauperata Curtis ex Woodw., commonly called starved wood-sedge, is a rare sedge species native to parts of Europe. It has been functionally extinct in the United Kingdom since the 1940s. In 2010, after a successful reintroduction at Charterhouse School, staff at Wakehurst Place Garden in West Sussex announced plans for a second reintroduction of the species to an undisclosed site in Surrey.
