Carex debilis Michx., commonly called white-edge sedge, Rudge's white-edge sedge, or flexuous white-edge sedge, is a species of flowering plant in the sedge family, Cyperaceae. It is native to eastern North America, where it occurs in eastern Canada, the northeastern and midwestern United States, and extends southward along the Appalachian Mountains. Carex debilis is a clumping perennial plant. The variety Carex debilis var. rudgei produces smaller perigynia that are broadest near their middle. The natural habitat of Carex debilis includes upland forests, rock outcrops, and Appalachian balds. It typically grows in areas with acidic soil.
