About Cardamine bulbifera (L.) Crantz

Cardamine bulbifera (L.) Crantz, commonly called coralroot bittercress or coral root, is a flowering plant species that belongs to the mustard family Brassicaceae. This is a perennial plant that produces upright, mostly unbranched stems that can reach up to 70 cm (28 inches) in height. Its leaves are composed of between three and 13 leaflets each. Each leaf has bulbils at its base; these bulbils can detach from the parent plant and grow into new individual plants. The species produces flowers grouped in few-flowered corymbose racemes, with individual petals measuring 10โ€“15 mm (0.4โ€“0.6 inches) long. Petals are most often light purple, pink, or nearly white. This plant grows in damp locations.
