It originated in the Central Hungarian Basin, and can be found in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Luxembourg, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Ukraine, and all republics of the former Yugoslavia. Individuals of this species are black, with a green pronotum. This species formed during the Pleistocene epoch.
