About Camponotus sericeiventris (Guérin-Méneville, 1838)
Camponotus sericeiventris, commonly called the shimmering golden sugar ant, is a species of carpenter ant. It is native to large areas of Central and South America, and it is the only species that belongs to the subgenus Myrmepomis. Its scientific name was first described by Guérin-Méneville in 1838.
