Camponotus fulvopilosus (first described by De Geer in 1778) is a species of carpenter ant, commonly known by the common names Karoo balbyter ant and yellow-haired sugar ant. This species is endemic to the arid regions of Southern Africa. It occurs in rocky habitats across the arid regions of western Southern Africa, with a range that spans from Angola, Botswana, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, south to Namibia and South Africa.
