About Campanula raineri Perp.

Campanula raineri Perp., commonly called Rainer's bellflower or Rainer's harebell, is a species of flowering plant in the genus Campanula, family Campanulaceae. It is native to the Swiss and Italian Alps. This is a low-growing herbaceous perennial that reaches 5–8 cm (2–3 in) tall and spreads up to 20 cm (8 in) wide. It produces pale lilac, bell-shaped flowers in summer, and spreads via underground runners. Its locus classicus is located in Canzo, Lombardy. This species is well-suited for cultivation in alpinums or rock gardens, and has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
