About Camelina microcarpa Andrz. ex DC.
Camelina microcarpa Andrz. ex DC. is a species of flowering plant in the mustard family. It goes by several common names: littlepod false flax, lesser gold-of-pleasure, and small seed false flax. It is native to Europe and Asia, and is now widespread across the world as an introduced species, sometimes classified as a noxious weed. It is specifically known to grow as a weed in grain crops including wheat and rye. This plant is an erect annual herb that produces a stem which may be branched or unbranched, reaching a height between 30 centimeters and one meter. The plant is sometimes covered in a thin layer of hairs, especially on its lower section. Its leaves range from lance-shaped to oblong. An inflorescence of many pale yellow flowers grows along the upper portion of the stem. These flowers develop into plump, oblong to rounded fruits. Each fruit is less than one centimeter long, and is held at the tip of a short pedicel.
