About Camacinia gigantea (Brauer, 1867)
Camacinia gigantea, commonly known as the sultan, is a libellulid dragonfly species. This dragonfly lives in the forests of mainland and maritime Southeast Asia. Confirmed recorded locations of Camacinia gigantea include Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and the Philippines. Within India, the species has been documented in the eastern states of West Bengal, Assam and Nagaland, the central states of Odisha (Orissa) and Madhya Pradesh, and the union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
