About Calystegia malacophylla (Greene) Munz

Calystegia malacophylla (Greene) Munz is a rhizomatous perennial herb. It produces woolly stems that grow between 10 centimeters and nearly 1 meter long, and unlike many other morning glory species, it generally does not climb. Its leaves are vaguely kidney-shaped to triangular and pointed, reaching a few centimeters in length. The entire foliage is covered in a short layer of woolly white hairs, which gives the plant a pale greenish gray color. Its inflorescence bears a single white flower, which is sometimes tinted pink or yellow. When fully open, the flower measures 2 to 4 centimeters wide.
