About Calycoseris parryi A.Gray

Calycoseris parryi, commonly known as the yellow tackstem, is a spring wildflower. It is native to the Mojave Desert, the Sonoran Desert, and surrounding areas of the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico. It can be found in the U.S. states of California, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona, as well as in Baja California in northwestern Mexico. This species grows in sandy soils at elevations below 6,000 feet, and reaches a maximum height of 30 centimeters (12 inches). It is a member of the Sunflower Family, and produces yellow flowers, with leaves that grow up to 4.5 inches (11.25 cm) long.
