About Calosoma maximowiczi

Calosoma maximowiczi is a species of ground beetle that belongs to the subfamily Carabinae. This species was first described by August Morawitz in 1863. It is native to Japan, China, Russia, Taiwan, and Korea. Unlike most other species in its family, Calosoma maximowiczi is capable of flight. Adult individuals of this species feed on butterfly and moth larvae. They can be observed during midsummer on trees in mountainous broadleaf forests.
