In Canada, it has been recorded from Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan. In the United States, it has been recorded from Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. It lives in open short grass prairies and open ground within dry forests. Adult individuals of this species are brachypterous.
