About Calosoma angulatum Chevrolat, 1834
Calosoma angulatum, commonly known as the angulate caterpillar hunter, is a species of ground beetle belonging to the subfamily Carabinae. It was first described by Louis Alexandre Auguste Chevrolat in 1834. This species is found in Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and the United States (specifically in Arizona, California, New Mexico, and Texas). In this range, it lives in premontane moist forests and oak-savannah habitats. Recorded observations note that adult individuals of this species prey on Spodoptera frugiperda.
