Calochortus aureus S.Watson is a North American flowering plant species that belongs to the lily family. It is native to the southwestern United States, where it occurs in Arizona, southern Utah, northwestern New Mexico, and southwestern Colorado. This species is a bulb-forming perennial herb that grows a single stalk reaching up to 30 centimeters in height. Its flowers are bright lemon-yellow, with red or purple splotches on the petals.
