About Calamaria schmidti Marx & Inger, 1955
The holotype of Calamaria schmidti has a total length of 25.3 cm (10.0 in), which includes a 1.9 cm (0.75 in) long tail. The eye of this species is much smaller than the distance between the eye and the mouth. It has four upper labials, and does not have a preocular. The frontal scale is five to six times as wide as the supraocular. Calamaria schmidti is found in Sabah, a Malaysian state located on the island of Borneo. Its preferred natural habitat is forest, at altitudes ranging from 1,350–1,550 m (4,430–5,090 ft). Calamaria schmidti reproduces via oviparity.
