About Caenurgina crassiuscula Haworth, 1809
Caenurgina crassiuscula, commonly called the clover looper or range grass moth, is a moth species belonging to the family Erebidae. Adrian Hardy Haworth first formally described this species in 1809. It is distributed across the United States from coast to coast, and also occurs in adjacent areas of Canada. In western North America, its range extends to the Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Alaska. This moth has a wingspan measuring 30 to 40 millimeters. Adult moths are active from March to November, with the active period varying by location. The larvae of Caenurgina crassiuscula feed on various species of clover, grass, and lupine.
