About Cadarena pudoraria Hübner, 1825

Cadarena is a monotypic moth genus in the family Crambidae, which was erected by Frederic Moore in 1886. This genus contains only one species, Cadarena pudoraria, first described by Jacob Hübner in 1825. This species is found across tropical and subtropical Africa, and also occurs in India. Adult individuals of Cadarena pudoraria have a wingspan of approximately 40 millimetres, or 1.6 inches. Known larval food plants for this species belong to the plant genera Gossypium and Adenia, as well as the species Sida rhombifolia.
