Cacoecimorpha is a monotypic moth genus belonging to the family Tortricidae. Its only known species is Cacoecimorpha pronubana, commonly called the carnation tortrix. This species can be found in Europe, northern Africa, South Africa, Anatolia, and North America. Females of the species have a wingspan of 18 to 22 mm, while males have a smaller wingspan that ranges from 15 to 17 mm. The ground color of the forewings is light reddish ochreous, marked with darker lines, and the forewing costa is rounded. The hindwings of this moth are a bright orange color. Julius von Kennel has published a full, complete description of the species. Depending on the location, adult moths are active in flight from May to June, and then a second generation appears from August to September. The larvae feed on a broad range of deciduous trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants. The species can develop into a damaging pest for olive trees and avocados.
