About Byssomerulius corium (Pers.) Parmasto
Byssomerulius corium (Pers.) Parmasto is a common crust fungus species belonging to the family Irpicaceae. It was first formally described as Thelephora corium by Christiaan Hendrik Persoon in 1801. In 1967, Erast Parmasto reclassified it, and made it the type species of the newly circumscribed genus Byssomerulius. This fungus has a very widespread distribution, with recorded occurrences in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and South, Central, and North America.
