Byblia anvatara, commonly known as the common joker, is a butterfly species belonging to the family Nymphalidae. This species is found in Sub-Saharan Africa. Adult males have a wingspan ranging from 38 to 43 millimeters, while adult females have a slightly larger wingspan ranging from 40 to 45 millimeters. The common joker has a year-round flight period. The larvae of Byblia anvatara feed on Tragia glabrata and Dalechampia capensis.
