About Buzara onelia (Guenée, 1852)
Buzara onelia has a wingspan of approximately 44 to 46 millimeters. Overall, it is dark grey-brown with a purplish tinge. Its head and collar are typically fulvous. Forewings have brown suffusion. Indistinct waved sub-basal, antemedial and postmedial lines, as well as ill-defined antemedial and medial bands, are all greyish. There is a grey apical patch with whitish edges, and a sinuous dark line runs from this patch to the inner margin. An indistinct dentate submarginal line is present, alongside a greyish margin. Near the inner margin of the hindwings, faint traces of medial and antemedial pale lines can be found. The outer margin of the hindwings is greyish.
The larva of Buzara onelia has rudimentary first two pairs of abdominal prolegs. Its body is greyish white on the upper side and olive-grey on the lower side, with black spots arranged in a roughly linear series on each somite. A reddish lateral spot is found on the fourth somite. The pupa is efflorescent. The larvae feed on species from the genera Phyllanthus and Sauropus.
