About Bupleurum falcatum L.

Bupleurum falcatum L., commonly called sickle-leaved hare's-ear, sickle hare's ear, or sickle-leaf hare's ear, is a species of flowering plant belonging to the family Apiaceae. This species is native to Europe and the Caucasus. In East Asia, the scientific name Bupleurum falcatum is frequently misused to refer to a different species, Bupleurum stenophyllum. Research has found that Bupleurum falcatum has antidepressant properties that act through the serotonergic and noradrenergic systems, though the exact mechanism of this effect has not yet been identified.
