About Bulbine cepacea (Burm.f.) Wijnands

Bulbine cepacea (Burm.f.) Wijnands produces a spiral rosette of erect, soft, slender succulent green leaves, which reach a maximum width of 1 cm. The leaves are linear with acute tips, almost rounded (terete) in cross-section, featuring a flat upper surface and a rounder lower surface. Leaf bases are striated, and each has a sheath that encloses the stem. A short stem grows above the species' large, flattened, disc-shaped underground tuber. This species flowers in autumn. It grows in semi-dry Renosterveld vegetation, with a range extending north to Clanwilliam, south to the Cape Peninsula, and east to Riversdale.
