About Buchnera linearis R.Br.
Buchnera linearis, commonly known as blackrod, is a species of flowering plant belonging to the Orobanchaceae family. It is a short-lived, semi-parasitic herb that grows up to 60 cm tall, and is native to northern Australia and Papua New Guinea. This species was first described by Scottish botanist Robert Brown, and it was one of the many species published in his 1810 work Prodromus Florae Novae Hollandiae.
