Brunfelsia uniflora, synonym Brunfelsia hopeana, common name manac, is a species of flowering plant in the Solanaceae family. It is native to Monos island (Trinidad and Tobago), Venezuela, the Venezuelan Antilles, Guyana, Brazil, and northwest Argentina. It has been introduced to eastern Tropical Africa, Réunion, Mauritius, India, and Assam. It is a poisonous evergreen shrub that typically grows to a height between 0.5 to 3 m (2 to 10 ft). It is commonly cultivated as an ornamental plant, and used as an ingredient in ayahuasca and other potions, most often under its synonym Brunfelsia hopeana.
