Brodiaea minor is a small perennial plant. It grows an erect inflorescence that reaches up to 10 centimeters tall, and this inflorescence holds light purple flowers attached via short pedicels. Each flower has an urn shape, with narrow, spreading tepals that measure 1 to 2 centimeters in length. At the center of the flower, there are three fertile stamens, plus three large, protruding sterile stamens called staminodes.
