Briza minor L. is a grass species commonly called lesser quaking-grass or little quakinggrass. It is native to the Mediterranean Basin, and it is an introduced species in many other areas, including most of North America. This is an annual grass that grows narrow clumps of erect stems that reach up to 50 centimeters in height. Its inflorescence holds several small cone-shaped spikelets, and each spikelet hangs from a pedicel.
