About Brickellia oblongifolia Nutt.
Brickellia oblongifolia, commonly known as the Mojave brickellbush, is a North American plant species belonging to the Asteraceae family. It is widely distributed across arid and semi-arid regions of the western United States and Canada, ranging from British Columbia in the north, southward to southern California, Arizona, and New Mexico. This species is a perennial herb or subshrub that grows up to 60 cm (24 inches) tall from a woody caudex. Its flower heads may occur singly or in small groups; each head is cream-colored or pale yellow-green, and it contains only disc florets with no ray florets. Two recognized varieties exist. Brickellia oblongifolia var. linifolia (D.C.Eaton) B.L.Rob. is found in Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Washington. Brickellia oblongifolia var. oblongifolia is found in British Columbia, Washington, Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, and Montana.
